Yes i am aware that my Melbourne trip was a whole 8 months ago and that a return trip shall be in order soon to visit the lovely Daisy of Never too sweet for me and Michele of Ironchef Shellie and of course a whole bunch of other lovelies down there!
I am not going to start the Sydney vs Melbourne debate, i think both are a lovely city with its own perks and highlights, they are both so unique in its own ways you can't really say one is better than the other. One thing i do love about Melbourne are its lane ways, they are always hidden gems waiting to be discovered, amazing artwork and they always hold a sense of mystery for me.
I know there are many places in Melbourne that are a must visit, like Hardware Societe, no trip to melbourne is complete without stopping for brunch there. On my last trip there, i discovered another, Manchester Press. yep, if you love bagels, this is a must visit. I personally love bagels because the combinations are endless. In fact i love bagels so much, i'm going to attempt Billy from A table for two's bagels this weekend! (fingers crossed that it works out!)
The menu here is pretty extensive, there is a great range of bagels on offer, both sweet and savoury.
This place also has a pretty electic fit out. i love mix and match and bric and brac!
Skin chai latte
I only had 2 hours of sleep the night before as i had an early flight and i didn't pack till the very last minute. i am aware there isn't much caffeine in this but chai is one of my favourites! i love the little honey container that came with it!
Open bagel - avo, feta, chilli & mint smash w/ cherry toms, roquette & pine nuts
I love my avocado, a quick mental calculation and flick through lunch pics show that i have avocado at least 5 days a week, yep pretty addicted :P so when i saw this on the menu i knew i had to order it. it had my name all over it!
This is probably one of my favourite bagels by far, a creamy mash of avo and fetta and a slight kick from the chilli, i am salivating just thinking about it. Melbourne peeps, DHL me one pls?
12 hour roasted pull pork, homemade apple slaw w. BBQ sauce.
I went through a pulled pork phase ( well it is still lurking around my stomach and brain:P) where i would order pulled pork something whenever i saw it. Its safe to say that pulled pork will alway have my heart, saucy tender slivers of meat, food heaven! I also thoroughly enjoyed this bagel but do eat the avo one first as the flavour in this one is more dominating!
I can't wait till i make a return trip to Melbourne, this time i will hire a bike and explore the city in an entirely different way ( and also to burn off some calories as well :P)
P.S. In light of the recent bushfires, i hope everyone stays safe. Thank you RFS and their volunteers in helping fight these horrible blazes, hopefully this will come to an end soon!
